Main Components: The main raw material is high-purity silicon dioxide (SiO₂), whose chemical formula can be expressed as mSiO₂·nH₂O.

Appearance: Usually, it is in the form of colorless transparent or semi-transparent granular substances. Some indicator-type silica gel desiccants may present blue or orange colors due to the addition of substances such as cobalt chloride.

    The membrane can balance inside/outside pressure differentials of sealed enclosures while blocking  contaminants, which could increase components’ reliability and extend their service life. 

    Shelf life is five years from the date of receipt for this product as long as this product is stored in its original packaging in an environment below 80°F (27°C) and 60% RH.

    Working principle
    Silica gel has a three-dimensional network-like porous structure with a large specific surface area, and the pore diameters are around 2-3 nm. Through surface capillary action, it physically adsorbs water molecules, capturing and fixing the gaseous moisture in the environment in the micropores, thereby achieving the effect of dehumidification and moisture prevention.

    High-efficiency moisture absorption: At 25℃ and relative humidity of 60%, the moisture absorption rate is ≥30% (by weight), and it can quickly and effectively reduce the environmental humidity.
    Precise humidity control: After absorbing moisture, it does not expand or leak itself, and can precisely control the humidity, suitable for protecting precision instruments, electronic equipment, etc.
    Safe and non-toxic: Silica gel desiccant is non-toxic, odorless, with stable chemical properties, and has passed FDA, REACH, RoHS, etc. certifications. Food-grade silica gel desiccant can be in direct contact with food and medicine.
    Reusable: After reaching saturation in moisture absorption, it can be dried at 120-150℃ for 2-3 hours to remove moisture and be reused, with a lifespan of ≥5 times. Application fields
    Food and medicine field: Used for packaging of medicine bottles, health supplements, dried food, etc., to prevent medicines and food from getting damp and deteriorating, and to prevent mold growth, thereby extending the shelf life.
    Electronic optics field: Can be placed in camera lenses, microscopes, telescopes, sensors, etc. of electronic optical devices to prevent the formation of mold spots on lenses and the damage of electronic components due to dampness.
