Silica gel desiccant is a highly active adsorbent material, typically produced by reacting sodium silicate with sulfuric acid, followed by a series of post-treatment processes such as aging and acid leaching. Silica gel is an amorphous substance with the chemical formula mSiO2·nH2O. It is insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic, odorless, and chemically stable. It does not react with any substances except strong alkalis and hydrofluoric acid. The chemical composition and physical structure of silica gel determine that it has many characteristics that are difficult to replace by other similar materials. Silica gel desiccant has high adsorption capacity, good thermal stability, stable chemical properties, and high mechanical strength.
